Dear Supervisor DeSena and North Hempstead Town Board:

I am writing in support of Southern Land Company’s proposed environmental remediation and multifamily housing project for 145 West Shore Road, Port Washington.

This area has represented an undeveloped and missed community-building opportunity on the Hempstead Harbor shoreline for as long as I’ve lived here. SLC’s unique vision for cleaning up and redeveloping the site, in addition to the wide-ranging community benefits they’ve proposed – including a new and publicly accessible promenade, pier, and marina – has reassured me that they have an attainable vision with the potential for meaningful community growth. SLC’s constant transparency and conversations with countless community groups only underlines their authenticity.
